THIS WEEK IN DOCTOR WHO - June 9, 2000

"I was dead too long last time." - 8th Doctor
Hello, everyone. The elusive Benjamin has returned after 2 weeks traveling throughout the Southeastern USA. Things should be returning to normal here shortly.
Last week, This Week In Doctor Who did not put out a column for the first time since it launched in 1998. You did not miss it - it was not there. Wretched computers. Technology can be a real bear at times, and our apologies for any inconveniences.
Big BBC America development. Beginning Monday, June 26, BBC America will air Doctor Who episodes weekdays from 5 to 6AM EDT Eastern Feed (adjust for your local time zone and which version of BBC America you get). 2 episodes will air each day, beginning with Robot. It is not yet known if this will affect the weekend broadcasts.
Good news in Ireland. TG4 was not dropping Doctor Who altogether. Effective June 3rd, it now airs on Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 5:05PM BST. It looks like it will air 2 episodes a week through the Summer.
Good news in New Zealand. PrimeTV added a 6th night of Doctor Who to their lineup as of June 4th. It will now air Sundays through Fridays at 6:25PM.
Finally, it might take a bit more effort to find the Doctor on the Pittsburgh cable dial in the near future. AT&T cable systems serving Pittsburgh and its suburbs plan to replace WQEX 16 with the Cable feed of the PAX TV network effective July 5. This move is planned because Pittsburgh was the largest major market without PAX TV and WQEX has carried a direct simulcast of WQED 13's programming since November 1997. If you live in Pittsburgh and have Cable, it would be a good idea to know exactly which station you are watching Doctor Who on so that you are not caught off guard if this takes place. WQED would still be on the Cable, WQEX would be gone. If you don't have Cable, this probably makes no difference to you.

In other news, the Gallifrey Revenue Service (GRS) conducted an audit of The Doctor today. The audit was caused by The Doctor's claim that the lavish Disneyland package he took advantage of with the Navarinos was actually a business expense, because he found himself in mortal peril. Skeptical auditors plan to watch the footage to see for themselves.
